Sometimes even high octane individuals fall victim to fatigue that often comes as a result of giving too much of oneself. Modern women often go through what we refer to as burnouts and end up feeling exhausted, frustrated and disillusioned. Burnouts rob us of our best and brightest moments, hence it becomes all the more important for us to recognize and attend to them timely.
If you have fallen prey to the inevitable burnout that’s brought to most of us as a side effect of the present day lifestyle, then here are a few steps you can take to restore your energy.
Balance Your Activity and Rest
It is important to balance your sleeping and waking cycles. It may seem counterintuitive to have a full night’s sleep instead of working on your data sheet but a good sleep can actually help you boost your performance and efficiency in the long run.
Take Frequent Breaks
Keep the glorified busyness aside and take frequent breaks allowing your body to relax, rejuvenate and prepare itself once again to take up the challenges head on.
Sport the Difference between Work that Motivates and Depletes You
Doing your job and just doing that can work against us more than it does in our favor. When you take up a new project, it is important to note that the desire to give all of yourself to it will lead to frequent exhaustions and you may not be able to even complete the whole project. Be mindful of the needs of your body, listen to it and give it a breaks when it asks for it.
Focus on Minimizing Physical Stress
Any form of physical activity that you enjoy can help relieve stress to a great extent. Be it gyming, dancing, or sports you must make a commitment to self-care and follow through to make your body feel more energized all the time.
Treat Your Time and Energy as Currency
You energy and time are as important as the money you make. You need to use it wisely and make sure you don’t splurge on things with lower or zero return value.
Every high achieving woman has ‘passion’ as a common trait. Most of the victims if a burnout are often robbed of their passion, leaving you feeling emotionally depleted. When faced with such a situation, it becomes important to rediscover yourself, maybe find new passion that allows you to enjoy life in a more balanced way.
